Terms, Disclaimer & Policies
Last updated: August 2026
By purchasing or using a service offered by Inner Compass, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms, disclaimer, and policies.
General Disclaimer
Inner Compass provides personal guidance, mentoring, career support, job-search support, and resume review and editing services for informational, educational, reflective, and personal-development purposes.
Services provided by Inner Compass are not medical care, psychological treatment, psychotherapy, counselling, legal advice, financial advice, or any other regulated professional service. Nothing provided through Inner Compass should be used as a substitute for advice or treatment from an appropriately qualified professional.
Inner Compass does not provide emergency or crisis services.
You remain responsible for your own decisions, actions, communications, applications, relationships, career choices, financial decisions, and other personal or professional matters. Inner Compass provides perspective and guidance but does not make decisions on your behalf.
Intuitive & Spiritual Guidance
Intuitive and spiritual guidance is interpretive and reflective in nature. It is intended to provide personal insight, perspective, and an opportunity for self-reflection.
No prediction, interpretation, spiritual message, intuitive impression, or other guidance is guaranteed to be accurate or to produce a particular result. Future events can be influenced by circumstances, choices, and factors outside anyone's control.
Clients remain solely responsible for how they interpret and use the guidance provided.
Life Mentoring
Life mentoring is intended to help clients explore personal situations, decisions, goals, boundaries, transitions, relationships, priorities, and other life circumstances.
Life mentoring is not psychotherapy, counselling, mental-health treatment, diagnosis, or medical care. Inner Compass does not diagnose or treat physical or mental-health conditions.
If a matter falls outside the appropriate scope of mentoring, Inner Compass may decline to provide guidance on that matter or recommend that the client seek assistance from an appropriately qualified professional.
Career & Job Search Mentoring
Career and job-search mentoring provides guidance relating to career direction, workplace situations, job-search strategy, applications, interviews, professional positioning, and related career decisions.
Inner Compass does not guarantee interviews, employment, promotions, salary increases, job offers, acceptance by an employer, or any other specific career outcome.
Hiring decisions are made independently by employers and are influenced by many factors outside the control of Inner Compass.
Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving their own applications, communications, and other materials before submitting them to employers or third parties.
Resume Review & Editing
Resume services are intended to improve the clarity, organization, presentation, wording, and overall effectiveness of information supplied by the client.
The client is responsible for providing complete and accurate information regarding their education, employment, qualifications, experience, accomplishments, certifications, and other background information.
Inner Compass will not knowingly create false or misleading qualifications, employment history, credentials, accomplishments, or other information.
The client is responsible for reviewing and approving the final resume before using or submitting it.
Inner Compass does not guarantee that a resume will pass an applicant-tracking system, result in an interview, produce a job offer, or lead to any particular employment outcome.
Written Consultations
Unless otherwise stated, a written consultation covers the service and scope described at the time of purchase.
A written consultation is not unlimited ongoing email correspondence. Follow-up questions that substantially expand the original topic, introduce a new situation, or require significant additional research or analysis may require an additional consultation or additional fee.
If additional paid work is recommended, the scope and price will be communicated to the client before the additional work is performed.
Live Consultations
Live chat and telephone consultations may be offered where Inner Compass determines that a client's situation would benefit from a more detailed conversation.
Any applicable fee will be communicated and agreed upon before a live consultation is scheduled.
Purchasing a written consultation does not automatically include or guarantee a telephone or live-chat consultation.
Pricing and Additional Work
Prices displayed on the website apply to the standard scope described for each service.
Some requests may require significantly more review, research, rewriting, information gathering, or consultation time than a standard service. Where additional charges may apply, Inner Compass will inform the client before proceeding.
No additional hourly work will be performed without the client's agreement to the additional charge.
All prices are stated in Canadian dollars unless otherwise indicated.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
All sales are final.
Because Inner Compass services involve personalized review, preparation, analysis, writing, and time reserved for an individual client, payments are generally non-refundable once a service has been purchased.
Clients are responsible for reviewing the service description and pricing before completing their purchase.
If Inner Compass is unable to provide a purchased service, the client will receive an appropriate refund for the service that cannot be provided.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or restrict any consumer right that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
Turnaround Times
Any turnaround time stated by Inner Compass is an estimate unless expressly identified as guaranteed.
Turnaround may depend on the complexity of the request, whether sufficient information has been provided, current workload, and whether clarification is required from the client.
If additional information is required before meaningful work can begin, the turnaround period may begin once that information has been received.
Client Information
Clients are responsible for providing sufficient and accurate information for the service requested.
Inner Compass is not responsible for incomplete or inaccurate guidance, documents, or recommendations resulting from material information that was omitted, misstated, or incorrectly provided by the client.
Right to Decline or Discontinue a Service
Inner Compass reserves the right to decline or discontinue a request that falls outside the scope of the services offered, requires qualifications Inner Compass does not possess, involves unlawful or deceptive activity, or involves abusive, threatening, harassing, or inappropriate communication.
If Inner Compass declines a paid service before substantive work has begun, an appropriate refund will be provided unless otherwise permitted by law and agreed upon.
No Guarantee of Results
Every client and situation is different.
Inner Compass does not guarantee any particular personal, spiritual, relationship, employment, career, financial, or professional result arising from the use of its services.
Testimonials, examples, or client experiences displayed on the website represent individual experiences and should not be interpreted as promises that another client will obtain the same result.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Inner Compass will treat information submitted by clients with reasonable care and will use personal information for purposes connected with providing the requested service, communicating with the client, processing the transaction, maintaining appropriate business records, and meeting applicable legal obligations.
Only information reasonably necessary to provide the service should be requested.
Payment information may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Inner Compass does not need to receive or store a client's complete payment-card information when payment is processed directly through that provider.
Intellectual Property and Client Use
Written guidance, assessments, edits, recommendations, and other materials prepared specifically for a client are provided for that client's personal use.
Website content, branding, original written materials, service descriptions, graphics, and other materials belonging to Inner Compass may not be reproduced, resold, republished, or commercially distributed without permission.
Clients retain ownership of their own resumes, personal information, and original materials submitted to Inner Compass.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Inner Compass will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from decisions or actions taken by a client after receiving guidance or services.
The client acknowledges that Inner Compass provides guidance and support rather than guaranteed outcomes and that the client retains responsibility for their own decisions and actions.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes to Services and Policies
Inner Compass may update its services, pricing, policies, or these Terms from time to time.
The terms applicable to a purchase will generally be those presented to the client at the time the purchase is made, subject to applicable law.
